Roy & Lily
Updated: 6th November 2009
Just got a lovely email from Roy and Lily which they have kindly asked me to post on my website:
“Hi Gary, we would like to say a massive thank you for being such an amazing guy. You have unbelievable energy and our day was very special with your presence. We were really honored to have you as our photographer. All our family and friends love your pictures. We also feel the same way about you, a good friend we have known for a long time. We will always remain in touch and this is just the beginning… With Love, Roy & Lily xxx”
Just came back last night from the wedding of Roy an Lily, firstly I want to thank them for being such a wonderful couple. Both Roy and Lily are easy going, energetic, and just incredibly nice individuals. At times I felt like I was photographing two friends I grew up with, the wedding was full of action to capture from start to finish and I broke a new record taking close to 2000 images in one day.

These two portraits below were taken at separate locations, the one on the left was shot at Lily’s house and the second was shot at the Crowne Plaza hotel, whilst waiting to begin the ceremony. This is where I have to give credit to Steve Dibben from www.weddingfilming.co.uk who was filming the event and he suggested and that we do something with Lily’s dress which had detailed cutout patterns on the bottom, the sun was breaking in and out of the clouds so we had to time this well, with Steve holding the tail of the dress up to let the light shine through, we achieved the dappled light effect. Just some light post processing, I warmed up the image a little and converted to sepia which I think suited the image.
