Victor & Vivian Engagment

September 30, 2010 No comments yet

Looking at the weather forecast I knew that it would be touch and go for Sunday, a little drizzle however did not dampen the spirits for Victor and Viv’s engagement shoot. The location was around Bank and the Royal Exchange which is a building I love plus on a Sunday it was closed so not that many people walking into our shots making it a perfect backdrop. As Victor and Vivian come from Australia, I thought it would be good to capture something very a British, the good old red telephone booth.

Hiten & Anita

Hiten described his wedding as a Hybrid English Indian wedding, it seemed they had the best of both worlds! All in one day of the wedding I was photographing the colourful vibrant Indian Sarees with and then the classic timeless traditional images of an English Church wedding. The wedding ceremony was held at St Helen’s Bishopsgate and the evening recepetion was at Masti banqueting suite in Wembley where there was plenty of dancing.

I have attached few images both from their wedding and from their engagement shoot which was photographed close to their home in the Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf.

Richard & Emma

September 15, 2010 No comments yet

11th September is day that that most of us remember for obvious reasons, Richard and Emma in years to come will remember it as the day of their wedding anniversary and I will remember as the birthday of my niece Juliet. It was a sobering thought as I raced to the hospital after Richard and Emma’s wedding that I will become an uncle for the first time. I wish my sister Carmen and my brother in law Huan all the best with their baby Juliet.
Special congratulations and thanks also goes out to Richard and Emma and their guests for being incredibly nice and such a great to work with. Emma seemed to have a smile on her face every time I pointed my camera in her direction and the whole wedding was full of joy and laughter. The wedding ceremony was at All Saints Church with the reception at Ironmongers Hall at the Barbican. There are times when I take a photograph and I instantly know that it will look fantastic in black and white, below is an example of this.

Hung & My Dam

Gale force winds and the rain didn’t stop us from getting the shots we wanted, I’d started to get the flash guns and lights and out for the indoor photography but they proved unnecessary as we managed to catch a break in the rain and get some group shots outdoors.

Their ceremony was held at the Vietnamese Church “The Holy Name and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart” with their reception held at the China Palace restaurant near the Excel. Just by coincidence I was shooting at the same venue the week before for Phi’s& Angel’s wedding, their staff are starting to recognise me now as the Chinese wedding photographer.

Going back to the gale force winds, the below image says it all, but as always I tried to turn a problem into cool shot with veil flying in mid air.

Phi Lam and Lee Sun

September 1, 2010 No comments yet

I had been looking forward to Phi (Gor) and Lee Sun’s wedding which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Canary Wharf followed by a reception at the China Palace restaurant near the Excel Centre. After photographing Roy and Lily’s wedding last year, Lily is Lee Sun’s sister I knew I was going to be reunited with some old faces.

A special congratulations to Phi and Lee Sun and thank you Phi for supplying me the red bulls, it was a long day, so much appreciated.

Looking around the dance floor I noticed that there were no disco lights in the restaurant so I improvised by setting up a remote controlled flashgun and then putting a purple coloured gel on. One of the guests told me that they were going to set off one of those large party poppers so I timed the shot to catch the confetti which lit up nicely in purple. Love this shot, one of my all time favourite first dance images.
