About Me
Garry Chung
Principal Photographer- Docklands Photography
Two of my greatest passions in life are photography and travel, I love travelling because it allows me to see and experience other cultures. One of the great things about living in London is that it is such a rich and diverse cosmopolitan city and this can be experienced in the weddings that take place here.
I was born in East London but grew up in Lincolnshire; I went to school in North Yorkshire which is where my passion for photography began. The school had it’s own cameras and darkroom in the design centre, I remember clearly the first film I ever developed. It was a black and white picture I took of Ampleforth Abbey.
As much as I am fond of film cameras, I have fully embraced the digital revolution and was one of the early converts to digital photography. I love to keep up to date with the latest advancements in digital photography and when I’m not shooting weddings, I spend a lot of my time researching new digital editing software advancements and camera equipment.
People often ask the question, what would you do if you won to the lottery? My answer is that I would travel the world taking pictures but I would carry on shooting weddings because nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing the bride and groom’s faces light up when presented with photographs of their special day. I feel truly privileged doing what I love.
