Wedding FAQ

What style of photography do you shoot?
Whatever your preference for the type of images you want, the style of photography on your day will accommodate this. Some clients specifically ask for reportage style which means that the photographer will blend in to the background and shoot largely unnoticed with minimum intrusion to the proceedings, others expect their photographer to direct the pictures and organise poses to maximise the glamour of the wedding. Normally we prefer to use a mix of both styles and at the end of the day the aim is to provide you with a set of images you love without being intrusive.

Can we meet you before the wedding to discuss our requirements?
We believe it is highly beneficial, where possible, for clients to meet with potential photographers for their wedding. However, if a consultation proves logistically impossible we can still discuss all your queries or concerns over the phone in detail and we can provide you with examples of our work to ensure that you are choosing the right photographer. The consultation is free of charge and does not commit you to anything.

How long do you stay on the day?
We provide a full day of coverage at your wedding and don’t believe in limiting the shoot to a certain number of hours. The photography can begin from the Bride and Groom’s preparations in the morning and we will only leave when you are comfortable that everything has been captured. We will work around your schedule on the day.

What camara do you use?
My primary camera is the Canon 5D Mk2, in my opinion the best camera on the market for weddings. I carry backups for all my kit in case of equipment failiure and am a member of Canon Professional Network which means I am always up to date on the latest advancements in Canon photogrpahy technology.

Are there any other costs aside from the price of the packages?
We travel thorughout the UK and internationally for destination weddings. The only potential additional costs are travel and accommodation expenses. If your wedding is taking place more then 25miles away from where we are based in East London, the travel charge is 35p per mile. In addition, if the wedding is more then 2 hours from where we are based, we will require accommodation for that evening. Interntaional destination weddings are tailored up the individual requirements.

How many photographs do you take on the day?
We generally take between 600 – 900 photos a day. You will be presented with the best of these.

Do you take any formal or group photographs?
Absolutely. There are no restrictions to the type of photography done on the day. We will offer our advice on the number or feasibility of the shots you want, based on timings of the day but otherwise your wedding album will be filled with the type of shots you want.

Who will take our photographs?
We will take the photographs at your wedding. The primary photographer may be accompanied by an assistant but there is no difference in the cost for you.

How do you deal with low light and bad weather conditions?
A good photographer should be able to capture your pictures in all conditions. We have the professional photographic equipment required to deal with low light conditions and will research your venue thoroughly. Where possible we will visit the venue in advance to ensure there are locations we can use for the group photos, couple shots and bridal portraits in the event of bad weather.

What if I don’t like having my photo taken?
Don’t worry, many people feel the same way. We will discuss all your concerns before the day to take into account any worries you may have. Certain styles of photography are less intrusive then others and there are many ways to make you feel more comfortable and still get the shots you want from the day. We can also arrange for a pre-wedding shoot to work through any concerns you have and help you become more relaxed in front of the camera.

Do you offer black and white wedding photographs?
Black and white images can be striking and a proportion of your photos may be delivered this way. Usually this is about 20-25% of the images taken. Once again we are flexible to accommodate different styles or preferences.

How long does it take until I can see my photographs?
All images will be high quality post-processed and the full set will be sent to you within four weeks after the date of your wedding. With your consent, highlights from the wedding will be posted in the blog within a few days.
